Slidell, LA to Jacksonville, FL – Day 2

So the second day of the trip, there’s still not a whole lot to tell.  😛  As I’ve said, we’ve made this trip so many times, there’s just not a lot to talk about.  We did make one stop for some sweet tea, and saw one of the tent cities for the oil spill workers.  That led to an impromptu lesson on the oil spill and the dangers of drilling, the advantages (and disadvantages) of electric cars, and all kinds of other stuff.  We bought a paper, and read up on the small Mississippi town (I can’t remember the name of it for the life of me), and saw where they’re begging for help for the cleanup.  But we didn’t wind up going down Hwy 98 (the coastal Highway here in Florida), and I was disappointed about that.  At the same time, though, this is a long enough drive, so adding to it when we’re all ready to get there isn’t a really good idea.  🙂  So maybe on the way back…

Today was a good day…  Tom & his sister did some grocery shopping, I hung out at the house with the boys and read and refereed.  😛  In the household right now, we have me and Tom, his sister, her husband, my mother-in-law, their oldest son (18), and the “kids” are (all boys):  13, 12, 11, 10, and twin 5-year-olds.  Fun, Fun!  😛  Oh yeah, we also have 2 good-sized dogs.  😀
