BlogFrog/WordPress Help??

OK, so I found what looks like a really great community site… BlogFrog. I’ve joined several communities, and wanted to make one of my own for fellow gypsy dreamers and/or homeschoolers. 🙂 The problem is that although I truly feel like I do pretty well, technologically-speaking, but… not so much last night or today. I can’t figure out how to post the code to my site!!! I tried an HTML widget (it says arbitrary text/html) but the widget doesn’t appear… just some text.

So, if there are readers of my blog that also BlogFrog, and you have any ideas how to fix my problem, would you please comment to help?! I would REALLY appreciate it! 🙂

Twitter Party/Chat

So this post isn’t directly related to education or to our plans for our dream life, but I just had to say something.  Last night was my first night to participate in a Twitter Chat (#blogchat).  Has anyone else done this before?  Tonight was my second night… this one was #mobsociety (MOB = mother of boys).  How fun is that!?!?  Seriously, if you’ve participated in one, tell me how fun you thought it was… 🙂

The best way to describe a Twitter chat/party is that it’s literally like being at a party, with conversations going on all around you.  Usually, there is a topic or a scheduled chat, but then it goes off in all directions.  It’s extremely fast-paced.  Both times that I’ve participated in have been directly from Twitter’s website.  I think that would be easier to follow than one of the mobile applications on my iPhone, simply because it will refresh whenever I click on the bar that says “xx(number) of tweets since your last search”.  But sometimes that number will be 15, or 30, or one time 74.  And I was refreshing every minute or less, mostly.

So, last night at #blogchat I met some wonderfully knowledgeable people who have really helped me think about why I blog, what I blog about, and how to make my blog something that people will enjoy reading and gain knowledge from.  Of course, I’m following none of those tips in this post (hahahahaha), but I was excited to get this info to you.

And then tonight, I attended the #mobsociety chat.  They are launching a new website tomorrow morning, and if you are a mother of boys, and a Christian, this is one site you will not want to miss.  I gained access to a wonderful group of other moms out there, many of whom I believe will be helpful in other areas of my life, as well.  A couple are homeschooling moms, another is in social networking, and several other are writers.

It always amazes me, the way I find something new, and meet incredible new  people.  Now that I’m aware of a how the chats work, I’ll be looking for ways to incorporate this idea into my homeschool, and perhaps introduce ourselves to people around the world while chatting about different homeschooling subjects.

If you’re unsure as to how to find and participate in a Twitter Party or Twitter Chat, I’m working on an article now to detail that side of it.  As soon as the article is published, I will post a comment to this post, linking to it.  Feel free to leave me a comment here, or at my Austin Social Networking Examiner website.  Happy Tweeting! 🙂  Oh, and please feel free to find me anywhere!  🙂
